Verizon - Maryland's intelligent network is among the most advanced in the country. More than 95 percent of all access lines are served by state-of-the-art digital technology and all central offices are diversely linked via fiber-optic facilities. To further ensure integrity of the customer's communication, Verizon uses self-healing SONET ring technology. AT&T, Sprint and Verizon also have Points of Presence within the county. Cellular telephone services are available through private local and regional vendors.
