Washington County is located in west central Maryland, slightly more than an hour drive from Washington DC and Baltimore. The county is bounded by Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. It extends east to South Mountain, south to the merging of the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers, north to the Mason-Dixon Line, and west to Sideling Hill Creek.
