EDC Announces Appointments to Board of Directors
The Hagerstown-Washington County, Maryland Economic Development Commission (EDC) announces four new appointments and two re-appointments to its Board of Directors. All members have been appointed or re-appointed by the Washington County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) and will serve three-year terms beginning July 1, 2010.
- Mr. Jefry A. Bohn has been appointed as a Chamber of Commerce representative to coincide with the retirement of Mr. Robert E. Ernst, II.
- The Honorable Paul N. Crampton, Jr., has been appointed as a Municipality representative to coincide with the retirement of The Honorable Jeffrey A. Cline.
- Mr. Peter P. Thomas has been appointed as an At-large representative to coincide with the retirement of Mr. James D. Lobley.
- Mr. Michael S. Zampelli has been appointed as a Greater Hagerstown Committee representative to coincide with the retirement of Mr. John L. Schnebly.
- Mr. Frederic M. Frederick, who was serving the unexpired term of a former member, was re-appointed as a City of Hagerstown representative. Mr. Frederick will serve his first three-year term effective July 1, 2010.
- Mr. Robert C. Jeffers, who was serving the unexpired term of a former member, was re-appointed as an At-Large representative. Mr. Jeffers will serve his first three-year term effective July 1, 2010.

We thank them for their guidance, expertise and enthusiasm towards our mission and strategic priorities,” said Timothy R. Troxell, CEcD, executive director of the EDC.
More About the New Board Members:
Mr. Bohn, CPA, has been a member of the Smith Elliott Kearns & Company, LLC firm since 1989 in the Accounting Services and Tax Department of the firm’s Hagerstown office. Mr. Bohn graduated from Clarion University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and is a graduate of Leadership Washington County Class III. He is involved with numerous local boards including Rotary Club, Boys and Girls Club, Leadership Washington County, and the Technical Innovation Center at Hagerstown Community College, among others.
The Honorable Mr. Paul Crampton is the newly elected Mayor of Funkstown and President of Paul Crampton Contractors, Inc. A developer since 1978, he helped create several residential communities as well as retail space in Washington County. He is a graduate of South Hagerstown High School and serves on The Columbia Bank, Hagerstown Trust Division Board of Directors.
Mr. Thomas is the executive director of the Western Maryland Consortium and is responsible for administering the programs funded by the Workforce Investment Act and the Trade Assistance Act in Allegany, Garrett, and Washington Counties. He is a graduate of Transylvania University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.
Mr. Zampelli, CPA, is chief operating officer of Antietam Health Services, Inc., the for-profit affiliate of the Washington County Health System. Mr. Zampelli graduated from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and serves on numerous boards and leadership positions including Pen Mar Development Corporation, Mason/Dixon Council Boy Scouts of America, Walnut Street Community Health Center, Community Rescue Service, Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber of Commerce, Orrstown Bank and Horizon Goodwill.
