Washington County Health System, Inc. is the parent organization of Washington County Hospital (WCH), Antietam Health Services, Inc., and the WCH Endowment Fund. WCH is a not for profit 274-licensed bed acute care facility, offering a full range of medical services. WCH serves as a regional Level III Trauma Center, houses an emergency department and has two urgent care centers.

In 2008, construction began on a new hospital incorporating the latest technological advances in medical care. The 510,000 square foot facility is scheduled for completion December 2010 and is designed to consolidate inpatient and outpatient services in one location to improve access for patients; create synergies
between departments to improve service to patients; provide more flexibility in patient care and enhanced privacy and confidentiality; and anticipate the demand for future health care advances and emerging technologies.

Antietam Health Services, Inc. is the for-profit entity of the health system focusing on out-patient
services, it includes 11 physician practices, 2 Urgent Care Centers, a medical lab, a pharmacy, and other health care businesses.

Brook Lane Health Services is a private hospital, providing inpatient and out patient psychiatric services. Program areas include children and adolescents, elder care, special education services, substance abuse and pastoral counseling.

Western Maryland Hospital Center, operated by the State of Maryland, is a specialty hospital and comprehensive care facility that provides a wide range of health and rehabilitative services.
