(Hagerstown, MD – January 8, 2008) DOT Foods, Inc., a family owned re-distributor of food and non-food products to the national foodservice industry, has completed its warehouse expansion plans at its Williamsport, Maryland distribution center.

The project has added an additional 63,000 square feet of dry storage area and 40,000 square feet of frozen storage area at the company’s facility located at 16301 Elliott Parkway. The expansion has taken the overall facility size to more than 275,000 square feet.

Company officials initially estimated the project’s capital investment at $10 million, but the actual cost upon completion was over $13 million. The company is also investing an additional $500,000 for expansion of the distribution center’s truck garage. Completion is expected in March 2008.

To help staff the expansion, DOT Foods plans to hire an additional 100 employees during the next four years. Job opportunities include material handlers, Class A CDL drivers, clerical positions, and leadership positions.

“We needed to expand due to rapid, double-digit growth companywide and at this distribution center,”said Brian Duffield, General Manager, DOT Foods’ Williamsport Distribution Center. “Since coming to the area in 1994, DOT has enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the community. We are excited to continue to create more secure and well paying jobs for the tri-state area.”

“We are very happy that DOT Foods’ expansion project is now complete. I’d like to commend the company’s consultants, engineers, and contractors for overcoming many challenges in making this project fit on DOT’s existing property. If not for that, this $13 million investment and 100 new jobs would have happened somewhere other than Washington County. We appreciate DOT’s commitment to Washington County and wish them the best of luck in the future,”said Timothy R. Troxell, CEcD, Executive Director, Hagerstown-Washington County Economic Development Commission.

Founded in 1960, DOT Foods is the nation’s leader in the food re-distribution industry. DOT is headquartered in Mt. Sterling, Illinois and operates distribution centers in California, Missouri, Georgia, Oklahoma, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, and New York. The company supplies its network of distributors with 60,000 quality foodservice products from 600 industry manufacturers.
